While the world mourns the passing of superstar David Bowie, at least one Bowdoin student can claim to have worked with him. As a child, Hayley Nicholas ’17 appeared with Bowie in an ad promoting his 2002 album Heathen.
“‘Slow Burn’ has been and will always be my favorite song of his,” said Nicholas. “I’ll never forget that when the video shoot was finally done, I asked him for his autograph. Smiling, he knelt down at my level and asked for my signature instead because ‘it was important to him.’ A very self-effacing guy for such a legend. He will be truly missed.” Watch the video.
